How to play the bracket predictor

Chalk or Chaos is a free 2026 World Cup bracket predictor — no signup, on any device. Here is how it works in five steps.

1. Predict the group stage

Rank each of the 12 groups from first to fourth. The top two advance automatically; then pick the eight best third-placed teams to complete the 32 qualifiers.

2. Fill the knockout bracket

Every match shows a real win probability from team ratings. Tap the team you back to send it through — Round of 32, 16, quarter-finals, semis and the final — and crown your champion.

3. Back favourites or call upsets

Side with the favourites for safety, or call the upset for a bonus. Your picks reveal a 'predictor DNA' — from steady favourite-backer to full chaos agent.

4. Battle friends with a room code

Create a room, share the six-character code, and everyone's predictions are scored live on a shared leaderboard: 10 for the Round of 16, up to 160 for the champion, plus upset and exact-scoreline bonuses.

5. Share your bracket

Generate a share card with your champion, boldest call and predictor DNA — and dare your friends to beat it.
